January Term is a unique one-month course that alters the pace of the academic year by providing opportunities for students to engage in focused exploration of a single subject. January study is often experiential and/or experimental, and students are given greater freedom and greater responsibility for their learning. Come see what it’s all about!

Activities will introduce students to the academic facets of the January Term experience: on-campus study, study abroad programs, internships, and research experiences. Interaction with current students and class visits are included in the schedule. First time visitors are encouraged to extend their time on campus in order to tour campus and/or attend an Introduction to Luther session.

There will also be activities for parents. While students are in class on Monday, parents can choose to attend information sessions on various topics such as: academic advising, residence life, financial aid, etc.

Check-in will be in the "link" between Sampson-Hoffland and Valders Hall of Science at 9:30 a.m.

On campus housing for visiting students is no longer available. Hotel choices can be found at www.luther.edu/decorah/lodging/. If you will be staying in town on Sunday evening, a parent dinner will be held in Peace Dining Room at 5:15 p.m. with faculty members and parents of current students in attendance. At that same time, visiting students can eat dinner in the student cafeteria with current students. Check-in for dinner is on the 2nd floor of the Dahl Centennial Union.

We hope you will join us for this in-depth look at one of Luther College's favorite times of year. On site registration will be available Monday morning.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
