Christmas at Luther Visit Event

High school seniors currently involved in music, and their parents, are invited to our visit event that culminates in the Christmas at Luther performance. Now in its 37th year, the musical celebration features performances by five choirs, Luther Ringers, and the Symphony Orchestra. The concert takes place in the college's beautiful Center for Faith and Life.

The event schedule is flexible based on what you would like to accomplish while on campus. You can arrive in the morning, for the 1:15 p.m. Concert Preview, for dinner, or for the concert.

Morning activities (optional):
  • Audition for a music scholarship--auditions must take place before 1:15 p.m.
  • Meet with an admissions counselor
  • Tour campus
  • Lunch
Afternoon and evening schedule:

1:15 p.m. Welcome and concert preview with music faculty
2:30 p.m. Choice of activity:
  • Participate in a side-by-side jazz rehearsal with music faculty and current Luther music students.
  • "Listen, Sing, and Play" workshop facilitated by a music faculty member and current Luther students
  • Attend a class—for students only. Parents will have an opportunity to learn about financial aid, curriculum and student outcomes during this time.
  • Study abroad session—find out why Luther consistently ranks as one of the top 10 baccalaureate colleges in the nation for the number of students studying abroad
  • Campus tour
  • Instrumental faculty meet & greet

5:45 - 7:30 p.m. Christmas at Luther concert

Please note, on-campus housing with current students is NOT available for this event.
